Tools for Handling Stress Author
Marie Thellian
A bit about Marie and why she wrote this book
The main impetus for Marie’s book came from conversations with her children about how to handle stress. The tools shared in the book are detailed in a straight-forward easy-to-use fashion. These skills are based on Marie’s personal un-stressing journey – like learning to meditate and becoming more conscious of breathing and was also guided by her work over the years. In each setting Marie’s work emphasized helping others attain greater independence, stability and happiness. She has worked for state agencies and nonprofits advocating for appropriate accommodations as well as coordinating direct services for deaf and hard of hearing constituents. In recent years, Marie has been providing holistic wellness services, such as life coaching, coaching in meditation, sessions in Reiki and NeurOptimal® neurofeedback. One of her clients declared, “Marie is wonderful to work with. It’s like getting nourished just by coming to a session!”
Marie has been drawn to help people live more stress-free and fulfilled lives; beginning her work in earnest completing a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Boston University and for many years working with and advocating for deaf persons. Marie is a certified Master Teacher in Usui and Karuna Reiki and holds advanced certification in NeurOptimal® neurofeedback training. Marie is the owner of NeuroHeights, where she offers holistic services.
This book originates from conversations Marie has had with her children as they approached their transition from home to college life. In these conversations Marie saw a need for a set of readily accessible tools for students to turn to in their new life and environment to help them deal with stress.
Marie offers this toolkit in a number of formats designed to be an easy to use guide to help readers manage stress in their lives.
